They design, manufacture, help specify, supply and help commission a comprehensive range of sensor based technologies across the globe. Steinel (UK) Ltd is the fully owned subsidiary that services the United Kingdom; providing technical support and sensor designs as well as supplying the products made in the 6 manufacturing locations across Europe. The parent company, Steinel Vertrieb GmbH was formed to consolidate the Steinel companies, founded in 1959 by Heinrich Wolfgang Steinel, and is still run by the Steinel family. Now headed up by Ingo Steinel, the second generation of the Steinel family, the company continues to innovate and develop pioneering energy saving and environmental detection products of excellence. Award winning products are developed by one of the groups centres of excellence prior to being put into full production. Innovative PIR detectors and advanced HF radar sensors are amongst the energy saving devices that were pioneered in their Swiss centre of excellence. The best quality components are used throughout the Steinel philosophy - from product components to service components; the UK is covered by a team of trained Specification Engineers and backed up by a Lighting Industry Federation trained Advanced Lighting Engineer to help customers choose not only the right product for the installation but also to ensure sensor and lighting design compatibility. Only Steinel sensors can be found within the RELUX lighting design package. Free sensor and lighting designs, site surveys and on-site commissioning assistance are all available. CAD drawings can also be updated with RELUX data, to ensure the client only has to work from one set of electrical drawings.
